Canada gets first win of World Series, beats Indiana 6-0

In the second consolation game, Diamond Baseball Little League from Mirabel, Quebec beat Highlander Youth Recreation Little League from Georgetown, Indiana, 6-0.

Diamond Baseball Little League, which was just started in 2016 by manager Benoit Blais and currently has approximately 110 kids, got Quebec’s first win in a Little League World Series game. ¬†Benoit described the experience “a dream come true”.

Alex Blais went 4-4 with 2 runs, and Isaac Beaudoin was 3-4 with two double, a triple, 2 runs and 2 RBIs.   On the mound, Xavier Cere pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrending no runs, and only 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8 batters.

For Indiana, Maxwel Tripure and Jacob Thompson each had a hit.
