Central East Maui Little League did not need a 7th inning comeback on Monday.  The West squad scored 8 runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 13-1 over Highlander Youth Little League from Georgetown, Indiana.

The Hawaii team had 14 hits in total, led by Keoni Painter, who was 4-5 with 3 runs scored.  The big hit came from Jayke Cantero, who homered for Maui.  On the mound, Matthew Dinae and Dylan Waite limited Indiana to only 3 hits and no earned runs.  Matthew said his best pitch today was his fastball, and noted that he made a minor adjustment in his delivery in the second inning.

Hawaii is now 2-0, and moves on to the Winner’s bracket final against the host team from Danville, CA.
