Radames Lopez Little League from Guayama, Puerto Rico continued its success by winning for the second straight day, 5-2 against a very good Diamond Baseball Little League team from Mirabel, Quebec.

Puerto Rico jumped out in front with 3 runs in the third inning, two of which came from Yadiel Torress’ 2-run homer to deep left field.  Yadiel hit a fastball that was up in the zone, and it was one of the longest home runs hit in Intermediate World Series play.  They scored two more runs in the fifth by way of a two-run single from Jorge Rodriguez.

On the mound, Jan Torres was dominant.  In 4 innings pitched, he struck out 10 batters while only yielding one hit and one walk.  Yan said his curveball was his best pitch today, and felt very comfortable on the mound.

For Canada, in their first game of the 2017 Intermediate World Series, Thomas Pichette went 2-3 with a run scored, and Justin Brown went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s.
