In the first game of the 2017 Intermediate World Series, West Seoul Little League from South Korea (Asia-Pacific) scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th to take a 4-2 lead. Ile-de-France Little League loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth with only one out, and Seong-Ju Lee entered the game for Korea. Seong-Ju struck out the next two batters to end the threat, and then struck out all three batters he faced in the bottom of the seventh to earn the save.  Seong-Ju said that he felt a little nervous before entering the game, but that all went away once he took the mound.

Three South Korea pitchers held the France team to only three hits, while Yun-Jae Yu went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s for the Korean team.    Shortstop Min-Jae Lee went 1-4 with two runs scored.  He said his favorite part thus far has been meeting all the kids from different teams

Although this same little league lost in the championship game in Williamsport, PA last year, there are no kids here in Livermore that played on that team.

France will play next on Tuesday August 1st at 12pm PST against the loser of the Venezuela-Puerto Rico game.
