Cacique Mara Little League from Maracaibo, Venezuela earned their first win of the tournament with a 7-1 win over Ile-de-France Little League from Paris, France.  With the win, Venezuela moved on, while France is now out of the tournament.

Venezuela only had 5 hits for the game, but they took advantage of all of those as well as a few walks.  Cacique Mara Little League jumped out to a 5-1 lead with runs in each of the first 3 innings.  Newremberg Rondon got Venezuela on the board first driving a fast ball to center field for a 2-run homer in the bottom of the first.  In the 3rd, Jackson Chourio got a curve ball he liked and drove it over the center field fence for his first home run of the tournament.

On the mound, Kelvin Gonzalez was outstanding.  He only allowed 4 hits and 1 run in 5 innings of work, while striking out 10 batters.

Newremberg loves the beautiful stadium, but is missing his mom’s spaghetti!  Jackson is very happy to be here as well, but would love to have some empanadas.
